Calgary Fire Department Heavy Rescue #1027-1031
Calgary’s new six-unit lineup features the department’s tried-and-true heavy rescue design. Each rescue is built on a Spartan Metro Star chassis with a 450 HP Cummins power train and an Allison 3000 transmission. An innovative feature, exhaust is diverted to the roof to redirect fumes away from on-ground crews. Each unit also utilizes suspension kneeling, which lowers the apparatus 5” for easier OnScene Solutions compartment access. Calgary’s go-to design includes a Holmatro slide.
