The Dalton City Council meets today at 6 p.m. in the council chamber at City Hall.

Council members are scheduled to vote on a measure that would allow Dalton Utilities to sell by auction 222.48 acres of land in its land application system (LAS) in Murray County. The LAS comprises more than 9,800 acres that are used to treat wastewater.

The land that will be auctioned off is surplus land outside the fenced-in area of the LAS, according to Dalton Utilities President and CEO Tom Bundros.

Council members are also scheduled to vote on:

• A $300,6109 bid from SVI Trucks of Fort Collins, Colo,. for an air and light truck for the fire department.

• A $35,000 bid from Houston International Aircraft Support for an aviation fuel truck for the Dalton Municipal Airport.

• A $9,421.41 bid from Cope Brothers Construction to repair showers at the Police Services Center.

Council members will hold a work session at 5:15 p.m. in the third-floor conference room in City Hall.
