When spec’ing its new Heavy Rescue, the Austin, TX Fire department chose a 22′ aluminum SVI body mounted on a 20″ raised roof Spartan Gladiator chassis, which houses a powerful Cummins X15 505HP engine. This Heavy Rescue comes equipped with a Wabco single-cylinder, pass-thru air compressor, Command Light CL Series CL602A-W2 light tower, Warn 8,000-lb. 12V electric winch, Hannay electric cable reel, a Weldon V-MUX Multiplex system, Whelen Pioneer scene lights, a 120′ SlideMaster rear cargo slide, OnScene Solutions LED ground and compartment lights and OnScene Solutions heavy-duty cargo slides.
